Ode to SummerWhat is summer?  Freedom and relaxation,  Staying up talking ‘til 5 A.M. with best friends,  Swimming in Mandy’s pool,  Chlorine and sunscreen.  Frosting on birthday cakes,  Sweaty babies sleeping in my arms,  Diapers and formula.  Summer is fun and money making.   
What is summer?  Traveling to new places,  Building a Haitian orphanage,  Feeding the starving children,  Wishing I spoke Haitian-Creole.  Riding in tap-taps on bumpy roads.  Finding a new hatred for roosters,  Waking up too early,  Home cooked meals being freshly made.  Children playing Ode to Summer
